ON THE COVER

Why Did the Chicken ...?
Oil on Canvas
by Anna Macedo

Anna Macedo’s website reads like a patchwork quilt of creativity—collage, abstract painting, drawing, graphic design; jewelry constructed of woven beadwork, antique buttons, flotsam and jetsam. What’s missing is anything about her chicken fixation, which is a recent development. But this is what happens when an artist with Anna’s imagination is asked to paint a cover to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of a
magazine named Country Roads.
Maybe in another twenty-five years, the chicken will have made it
to the other side.
