ON THE COVER

Summer’s Looking Up
Digital Composite
by David Humphreys

To nine-year-old Luke Miller, it must have sounded like a dream gig. Luke came to the studio of photographer David Humphreys to be photographed with a giant tower of ice cream, only to discover that, when it comes to ice cream, looks can be deceiving. The faux ice cream Dave uses holds up well for multiple shoots under studio lights in summertime, but don’t try to eat it.
David Humphreys is known nationwide for his culinary photography, although we may soon have to modify that to read “internationally.” He is one of three photographers worldwide whose work will be featured when the Swedish camera company PhaseOne releases its catalog later this year. www.davidhumphreysphoto.com to see more.
